Weddings & Private Events

Short Hills Club is a family-oriented, private club located in the heart of Short Hills on 15 beautifully wooded acres overlooking South Pond.  The Club was founded in 1875 and moved to its current location in 1928.  SHC is recognized as the second oldest tennis club in the U.S. and is a founding club of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

The Club offers its facility as a venue for weddings and other events of members and their family, friends and sponsored guests. With terraces overlooking the Pond as well as the pool plus our beautiful new Lake Room, bar, breezeway, Pine Room, front entrance and lawn adjacent to the Pond, the Club offers the opportunity to create a unique and personal event.

Large gatherings typically enjoy the use of the full club and can range from informal to the most formal, from cocktail receptions to sit-down dinners and from use of the outdoors to purely indoors or some combination.  Small and even large events will often feel more intimate, charming and romantic than might be possible in a ballroom or as part of a larger facility. The mix of spaces offers the chance to truly customize and create the most memorable and special day for families.

We have created an album from a group of recent weddings as a guide to help couples consider their options and visualize their own events.  A wedding at the Club was featured in The Knot New Jersey magazine. These and other materials are available upon request.
